Professor Salah Obayya wins the State Award Excellence in Engineering Sciences

Professor Salah Obayya, Director of Center for Photonics and Smart Materials at Zewail City of Science and Technology, wins State Award of Excellence in Engineering Sciences. The prize is worth 100,000 Egyptian pounds in addition to a silver medal. Obayya has won the State Incentive Award for Engineering Sciences in 2005/2006.

Dr. Ahmed Zewail, Chairman of the Supreme Advisory Board for Zewail City of Science and Technology, sent Obayya a congratulatory message for his achievement, and he pointed in his message to how the Egyptian people have high expectations regarding Egypt’s national project for scientific Renaissance, which will help in building a better future for Egypt.

Obayya has built an outstanding international reputation in the area of "Green NanoPhotonics" with focus on the intelligent Computational Modeling of modern nanophotonic devices enabling technologies for efficient generation, distribution and utilization of sustainable energy towards low-carbon green society.
