Communications and Information Engineering
Communications and information Engineering (CIE) is at the heart of the industrial 4.0 revolution that impacts everyone's life. New intelligent systems that are interconnected, embedded, and controlled are continually evolving. There is a need for experts who can develop and operate such intelligent systems. The CIE program offers a combination of knowledge about electronics, communications technologies, control, embedded systems, and machine learning. The program offers a large proportion of electives that enable the student to tailor their education in one of four areas: communication technologies, artificial intelligence, high performance computing, and robotics.
The Bachelor of Science degree program in Communications and Information Engineering is accredited by the Engineering Accreditation Commission of ABET, the global accreditor of college and university programs in applied and natural science, computing, engineering, and engineering technology.

The Communications and Information Engineering program at Zewail City will nurture an academic environment that contributes effectively to empowering its graduates towards having the choice, talents, and knowledge to attain the following educational objectives within three to five years of graduation:
- Pursue a diverse range of careers as engineers in the field of communications and information engineering and related fields.
- Pursue advanced degrees in local and international graduate programs in communications and information engineering and interdisciplinary areas to emerge as thought leaders, researchers, experts, and educators.
- Be lifelong learners and innovators in the ever-changing global economic and technological environments of the 21st century.
- Assume entrepreneurial and leadership positions in the field of communications and information engineering and related fields.

By the time of graduation, students should attain the following SOs:
- An ability to identify, formulate, and solve complex engineering problems by applying principles of engineering, science, and mathematics.
- An ability to apply engineering design to produce solutions that meet specified needs with consideration of public health, safety, and welfare, as well as global, cultural, social, environmental, and economic factors.
- An ability to communicate effectively with a range of audiences.
- An ability to recognize ethical and professional responsibilities in engineering situations and make informed judgments, which must consider the impact of engineering solutions in global, economic, environmental, and societal contexts.
- An ability to function effectively on a team whose members together provide leadership, create a collaborative and inclusive environment, establish goals, plan tasks, and meet objectives.
- An ability to develop and conduct appropriate experimentation, analyze and interpret data, and use engineering judgment to draw conclusions.
